Beckman Picks Up Shut-Out in Jacks 6-0 Win

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team pumped 50-shots on goal in their 6-0 home win over St. Francis-North Branch.

Keys to the win were Ashley Krisak and Rachel Macaulay who each scored two goals and Katie Beckman who earned the shutout in goal with 18 saves.

Krisak got the first goal of the game at 9:17 of the first period with assists going to Courtney Ketola and Emily Gustafson. Just 15 seconds later it was Macaulay scoring from Kristi Konietzko to move the score to 2-0. At 13:50 of the first period it was Cassandra Inman slipping in a goal with Carina Johnson and Konietzko adding the assists and the Jacks held a 3-0 edge after the opening stanza.

After a scoreless second period the Jacks responded with three more goals in the third period with the first coming from Esse just 1:44 into the period with Gustafson assisting on the shorthander. At 12:47 it was Macaulay scoring from Mackenzie Roy and Konietzko adding the assist. Krisak ended the scoring for the Jacks at 16:17 with Konietzko adding yet another assist and Esse also adding an assist.

Beckman made all 18 saves to get the shutout, while Dakotah Bullen finished with 44 saves on 50 shots for the Saints.
