The St. Scholastica women’s basketball team opened the game on a 23-6 run and never looked back as they cruised to a 77-44 victory over the North Central Rams Tuesday night in the Reif Gymnasium.

CSS opened the game scoring the first five points before the Rams would put points on the board with four minutes already gone in the contest. The Saints jumped out to a lead of 25 points numerous times in the first half and would go into the break leading 39-15.

The Rams came alive in the opening minutes of the second half, starting with a 6-0 run to open the action. The Saints would come back out of a timeout and continue their ways just like the first half using crisp passing and unselfish play to jump out to leads of 41 and 39 points. The Saints would use every bench player in the game and eventually win 77-44.

North Central (2-4) was led by Jorie Grenell with 10 points. She averages 16 points on the year and all of her 10 points came with less than five minutes remaining in the ball game. Elisabeth Trickey chipped in with eight points as well.

The Rams would finish the game shooting 31-percent from the field, 36-percent from beyond the arc, and 71-percent from the free-throw line. The Rams would garner 31 rebounds and commit 30 turnovers.

St. Scholastica was led by Mariah Hovick (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) with 12 points. Caitlin McKernon (Coon Rapids, Minn./Fridley HS) chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds while Erin Frase (Phillips, Wis./Phillips HS (UW-River Falls)) and Sammy Doucette (Colfax, Wis./Colfax HS (UW-River Falls)) each tallied 11 points as well. Every player for the Saints scored except for one.
