LSC All-Conference Cross Country Team Named

The Lake Superior Conference announced their All-Conference selections in boys and girls cross country earlier this week. Cloquet and Proctor had two athletes each named in the boys division with Matt Welch of the Rails leading the way.

Jacob Welch of Proctor was also named first team. Cloquet’s Dylan Marvel and Jace Anderson paced the Jacks on the team, while Bryce Miller of Ashland, Chris Carey of Superior and Ryan Kero of Hermantown were also named first team.

Second team honors went to; Isaac Boedigheimer and Aaron Peterson from Cloquet, Superior’s Robert McClarey and Evan Walpole, Denfeld’s Matt Lepisto, Pentti Hanlon of Marshall and Zach Smith of Proctor were also named to the second team.

The first team for the girls was led by four Superior runners including; Leah Holmes, Natalie Kintop, Rachel Dixon and Malley O’Brien. Cloquet’s Anja Maijala also made the team as did Harley Kinney of Ashland and Natalie Stauber from Hermantown.

Second team honors went to; Isabella Evavold and Lorena Lane of Superior, Marshall’s Ann Kleinschmidt and Claire Kleinschmidt, Veronica Witikko and Amanda Robbins of Hermantown and Denfeld’s Jessica Kero.
