Cloquet-Esko-Carlton was eliminated from Section tennis play on Monday after a 4-3 loss to Hibbing/Chisholm in Hibbing. The Jacks lost three-of-four singles matches en-route to the defeat. A coin flip with Big Lake at the section meetings sent the Jacks to Hibbing rather than to face rival Hermantown in the first round of Sub-Sections

The lone victory for CEC in singles play was by Rosalie Lundquist who defeated Kayla Marschalk 6-1, 6-4 at #4 singles. At #1 singles Rachael Collier fell to Mikaela Krampotich 6-0, 6-1 and at #2 it was Lora Chalich dropping a 6-1, 6-1 decision to H/C’s Christina Matetich by a 6-1, 6-1 score. Katelyn Litke of CEC fell to Emily Milani 6-0, 6-1 at #3 singles.

The Jacks rebounded in doubles play to take two-of-three matches including a victory at #1 doubles by Reilly Kedrowski and Alyssa Acheson who defeated Miranda Morris and Janell Shea 6-3, 4-6, 11-9. Breanne Baker and Katrina Smith took a win for CEC at #2 doubles when they beat Madelion Pusatero and Emily Warner 2-6, 7-5, 6-3. The Jacks lost at #3 doubles when Abby Wangen and Courtney Ketola dropped a 7-5, 6-2 match to Raini Haybloom and Megan Hodge.
