When your defense plays so well that you allow only one shot on goal it is pretty tough to lose a high school girls soccer game. Esko-Carlton allowed just one shot to the Denfeld Hunters on Monday night and the Eskomos cruised to an easy 4-0 win in a game they led 2-0 at halftime.

Marisa Shady pumped home a goal in the 18th minute and just two minutes later the Eskomos added another tally when Ellie Emanuel slammed in a goal making it 2-0.

While Esko-Carlton was putting 11 shots on Denfeld goalie Morgan Lazzaro, their defense was keeping the Hunters offense under wraps. DeAhna Kulas faced just one shot in getting the shutout in the net for the Eskomos.

Brooke Schramm provided a goal in the second half at the 42nd minute mark with Hillary Anderson adding the assist. The Eskomos closed out the scoring in the 60th minute when Schramm added her second goal of the game.

Esko-Carlton has now won five of their past six games and is now 8-5 on the season. The Eskomos will have a huge Sectional showdown with the cross-town rival Cloquet Lumberjacks on Thursday at Les Knuti Field in Esko.
