The remarkable season for the young South Ridge volleyball team continued last night when they downed Bigfork 3-0. The Panthers lost a ton of talent last season, and this season the starting lineup is made up of a host of youthful players, but that hasn’t stopped them from putting up an 8-3 record through 11 games.

On Tuesday night the Panthers defeated Bigfork 25-14, 25-14 and 25-12, so it wasn’t just a 3-0 win, it was a proverbial spanking.

Justice Janke provided the Panthers with eight kills, Lindsay Janke added five digs, Callie Thompson recorded 15-set assists and five ace serves. The Panthers also got nine digs from Krystal Karppinen and eight kills and five digs from Mikayla Olesiak.

South Ridge will be back in action on Thursday when they host Marshall School of Duluth.
