C-E-C Proctor Tie 1-1 In Boys Soccer

Aug 28

Both the CEC Lumberjacks and the Proctor Rails got a little something out of their season openers with a 1-1 overtime tie. While they would each have preferred to come away with the win, both can say they are still undefeated.

Proctor opened the scoring first when Romeo Benish placed one in the 30th minute. That lead was short lived when sophomore Landen Straub scored for the Lumberjacks, with the assist going to fellow sophomore Tyler Goebel.

Both teams had plenty of chances as CEC goalie Derek Schrecengost made 22 saves while Proctor goalie Nathan Jenkins came up with 16 saves.

On Monday, the Lumberjacks will host Superior Senior while the Rails travel to Two Harbors to take on the Agates. Once again, both will be looking for their first win.
