On a team level, the University of Minnesota Duluth accomplished just what it set out to in Kirksville, Mo., over the weekend: bag four wins in two days. Now that the first hurdles have been cleared, the Bulldogs have a couple individual honors to brag about in addition to the club’s third consecutive 4-0 start.

Junior Kate Lange and senior middle blocker Kalli Lochner were named to the Days Inn Bulldog Invitational All-Tournament Team, announced Sunday. The tandem combined for well over 100 kills and 23 total blocks during the two-day tournament, hosted by Truman State University.

An All-American outside hitter from Hibbing, Minn., Lange led all attackers with 72 kills on the weekend. She topped the kill department for No. 7 UMD in all four outings, posting three double-doubles and collecting 47 digs overall. Lange also made her presence felt at the net with 11 total blocks.

Lochner, an AVCA All-Central Region selection last fall, picked up where she left off in 2011. The Cross Plains, Wis., product ripped 42 kills at a .415 clip, reaching double figures in three of four matches. Lochner also cracked the top ten across the tourney field in total blocks with 12 (including five solo).
