The Northland’s NewsCenter has announced the return of University of Minnesota Duluth Football and Hockey for the 2012-2013 broadcast season to the My 9 Sports Network.

The broadcasts kick off September 8th with the Bulldogs hosting Winona State live from Malosky Stadium. UMD Football broadcasts will be produced in cooperation with the iFan Sports Network.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with UMD,” said David Jensch, vice-president and station manager of the Northland’s NewsCenter. “Bulldog athletics is the premier sports attraction in the Northland and we are very proud to bring them to our viewers once again.”

The puck drops for the 2012-13 broadcast season of UMD Bulldog hockey on October 12th when the Bulldogs take on Ohio State for a two-game series at Amsoil Arena.

The My 9 Sports Network has a slate of 19 home games planned with additional away games still pending. Season opponents include Wisconsin, St. Cloud State, Bemidji State, Michigan Tech, Alabama-Huntsville, Denver, MN State Mankato, US Under-18 National and Nebraska-Omaha.

The UMD Women’s Hockey team will take on North Dakota for a two-game series starting on February 22, 2013.

The play-by-play action is called by Northland’s NewsCenter Sports Director Tom Hansen. Joining Tom in the broadcast booth is former Bulldog Judd Medak with color commentary. Medak played right wing for the Bulldogs from 1998-2002 before playing in the AHL.
