The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels picked up their fourth straight win in a row Monday as the Lady Rebels 10 runned the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers by a score of 19-4 at the Marshall School in Duluth. The Rebels Samantha Johnson picked up her fifth win of the season on the pitchers mound.

The Hilltoppers scored solo runs in the first, third, and fourth innings, and scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth but wasn’t nearly enough as the Rebels pick up the non-conference road win.

Nikki Grutkowski was 3-5 with a double, three runs batted in, and she also had two stolen bases. Samantha Johnson allowed four hits, walked four, and had five strikeouts in the Rebels victory Monday, she allowed four earned runs.

The Marshall Hilltoppers were led by Laurel Eyer, who finished with three hits on the day for Marshall. Her teammate Riley Albert, was 1-2 with a triple and a RBI. The Hilltoppers, who average seven runs a game again found themselves struggling as they allowed another team double digits in runs allowed. They are allowing other teams to score an average of over 17 runs a game against them.

The Rebels, winners of their last four games, improve their overall record to 5-4 on the season. The Rebels will be back in action on Tuesday when they play at McGregor. The Hilltoppers fall to 0-6 on the season and they will be home Wednesday as they take on Cloquet in a conference contest.
