Cloquet To Host U-18 State Softball Tournament

Cloquet’s Braun Park will be the home of the Minnesota U-18 State Class C girl’s fast pitch softball tournament the weekend of July 25-26. Teams from all over the state of Minnesota will be in Cloquet to participate in the event.

Among the local teams seeing action in the event will be the Cloquet VFW Silver Bullets. The Silver Bullets are a U-16 team that made the move up into the U-18 ranks this season after dominating in the youth ranks over the past 3 years. The Silver Bullets recently took second place in the Lake Superior Classic ‘Class B’ Division and they are the #1 seed out of the Lake Superior Fast Pitch League.

Other local teams seeing action will be the Cloquet Outdoor Advantage squad, Moose Lake and Duluth Central. Outdoor Advantage, the Lake Superior #4 seed, will open the tournament with a 9:00 game at Braun Park, while the Silver Bullets will open against St. Cloud at 10:45 on Saturday also at Braun Park.
