Panthers A Perfect 5-0 On The Season

The South Ridge Panthers remained unbeaten on the season; on Tuesday the Panthers knocked off the Mesabi East Giants by a score of 5-1 in a sectional match up at the new baseball field in Culver. The Panthers now have won four straight games at their new field in Culver and are 5-0 overall.


The Panthers who were coming of a 12-11 win Monday over Mountain Iron-Buhl in Culver have won four games in six days at home as they have defeated Chisholm last Thursday and Little Fork Big-Falls on last Friday.


Dan Wood was the winning pitcher on Tuesday. Wood had a dominating day on the pitchers mound, allowing only two hits while striking out t10 Giant batters. Wood also did not allow a base on balls in the seven innings he pitched Tuesday.


Offensively for the Panthers Tuesday, it was Kody Karppinen who had two hits on the afternoon; he also drove in two runs in the Panthers home victory. Wood also added a hit in the Panther win.


The Panthers, with the victory move to 5-0 on the season and they will host Floodwood on Thursday in Culver. The Panthers will also host the Carlton Bulldogs on Friday. The Giants fall to 3-1 on the season and they will play at Chisholm on Thursday afternoon.
