CEC Boys Sweep Superior on the Road

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team swept every match in both singles and doubles play on Thursday in taking a 7-0 win over the Superior Spartans in Superior.


Sean Kedrowski started the charge for the Jacks with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Ben Hanson at #1 singles. Following Kedrowski was Tanner Webster with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win over Cameron Gray at #2 singles. At #3 singles it was CEC’s Christian Pritchett beating Connor Gray 6-2, 6-2. Rounding out the singles for CEC was eighth grader Anders Pertler who gained a 6-2, 6-2 win over Michael Johnson.


Ryan Willgohs and Rob Sobczak opened doubles play for CEC with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Zach Reiswig and Derek Struss. At #2 doubles the CEC team of Luke Heine and Kevin Kleinknect took a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Deven Forseth and Ryan Kurkinen. The shutout was preserved at #3 doubles by CEC’s Tom Matuszak and Lucas Tomhave 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 over Anthony Bronsen and Bryan Bergstrom.
