Thunder Win Third Straight With 13-8 Win Over Northland

The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Softball team hosted Northland Community College on Monday at Braun Park. The Thunder won the first game 13-8 and the second game was postponed due to weather. No make-up date has been set for the second game.

Thunder sophomore Katie Youngberg (Moose Lake) was the winning pitcher, striking out four batters while giving up four hits in the complete game victory. Freshman infielder Courtney Kruse (McGregor) had two doubles and three RBIs while sophomore outfielder Casey Pierce (McGregor) had three RBIs. Freshman outfielder Kari Palmi (Esko) also had two hits in the win.

The Thunder scored seven runs in the second inning and never trailed in the game. The win improved the Thunder’s record to 3-2 in MCAC Northern Division play and 4-7 overall.

The Thunder will travel to Virginia on Wednesday to take on Mesabi Range Technical College in a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
