The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College Thunder Baseball team is on a southern Minnesota road trip to Austin for a pair of games today and two more on Saturday. The Thunder lost 7-1 to Riverland Community College in the first game today, and then lost 17-0 to Ridgewater Community College in the second game of the day.

In the 7-1 loss to Riverland, Thunder pitcher Bryce Karppinen (AlBrook) had seven strikeouts and two walks while pitching the complete game. Despite taking the loss, Karppinen pitched well and the Thunder defense was solid, committing only one error in the game. Richard Jubie (Esko) knocked in Don Roberts (Spooner) to earn the only RBI and run scored on the day. Bryce Karppinen was 3 for 5 on the day; Don Roberts was 2 for 5 with a triple; and Tony Klass (Duluth Denfeld) was 2 for 5.

The Thunder will play two games in Austin on Saturday, taking on Central Lakes College in a morning game and then meeting Ridgewater Community College again in the afternoon.
