Proctor Boys Win Corsby-Ironton Invite

The Proctor boys took first place in the Crosby-Ironton Invitational last week while the Proctor girls came ever so close to capturing the title as well, falling just a few points short of the Rangers, who took home first place in the girl’s event of this seven team meet last Thursday.


The Proctor Rails boys edged out the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels finishing with 156 points as the Rebels came in second with 127. Crosby-Ironton finished third with 120, the rest of the boys finishers were McGregor fourth with 70, Floodwood fifth with 26, it was South Ridge with 20 and Carlton with 8.


The Girls title went to the Rangers who finished with 137 points, while Proctor came a close second with 132. South Ridge was third with 98, the Rebels were fourth with 78, the Carlton Bulldogs came in fifth with 57, McGregor had 16 and it was the Floodwood Polar Bears finishing with 10 points on the afternoon.


The boy’s event saw Matt Welch and Romeo Benish continue their area dominance in the distance races, as they finished first and second in the 1600 and 3200 meter races. Proctor also took home first place finishes in the 110 hurdles, as Anders Voss was the winner there, Frank Deluca won the 300 meter hurdles, and Alex Green won the Pole Vault.


Jake Disterhaupt had three individual first place finishes Thursday as he captures the 100, 200 meter races and the long jump. He was also part of the Rebels relay team with won the 4×100 and 4×200 meter races. The Rebels also won the 4X400 meter race. Josh Cisar took home first in the Triple Jump and Ben Moonen won the 800 meter race for the Rebels.


Micayla Westendorf of Proctor had fist place finishes in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles for the Rails. Kassie Haedtke won the 400 meter dash, Hannah Kadahl won the Pole Vault, and Megan Sundstrom won the 200 meter dash for Proctor. The Rails also took wins in the 4X200 meter relay and the 4X400 relay.


Lindsey Dahl-Holm of Carlton won two events as she took first place in the 3200 meter run and also won the High Jump. The Panthers of South Ridge had four first place finishes, including Gracie Otis in the 1600 meter run, Emma Bloom won the 800 meter race, Anna Hall won the 100 meter dash and it was Angela Redding who won the shot put for the Panthers.
