Welcome back, J.T. Brown! After missing the previous two games while nursing an upper body injury, Brown returned to the University of Minnesota Duluth lineup last Friday night and helped spark the Bulldogs to a Western Collegiate Hockey Association sweep of 16th-ranked Colorado College.

The sophomore right winger contributed three points, including an overtime goal, to the UMD cause and for his efforts was rewarded with the Red Baron® WCHA Offensive Player of the Week award.

Brown, a native of Burnsville, MN, and the reigning Frozen Four Most Outstanding Player, buried a shot 3:00 into overtime Friday to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 win then scored once the next night (the eventual game-winner) and assisted on another goal as UMD rolled past the Tigers 5-2. On the weekend, Brown put 19 shots on goal, including a UMD 2011-12 single-game high 10 in the rematch, finished a +2, and was an integral part of a power-play unit which went 4-of-8.

In addition to pacing the country in plus-minus rating (+27), Brown is tied for fifth among WCHA players in overall scoring with a career-high 42 points (20 goals and 22 assists) and is second only to teammate Jack Connolly in the league points race (17 goals and 18 assists in conference play).
