Barnum’s Katie Myhre Chosen To Participate In State All-Star Game

Barnum senior Katie Myhre has been a fixture on the hard court in Barnum for the past six seasons; she has had team success and individual success as a basketball player and she was recently chosen to play in the state girls all star game in April.

Myhre was selected to represent the State Class A team in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association all star series at Macalester College in St. Paul on April 20th and 21st. High School coaches from throughout the state select the players that will represent each class in the all star series.

Myhre currently is averaging 19.5 points per game for the Bombers, she leads the Northland with 60 three pointers, she is also leading the Northland in assists averaging over seven assists per game and is second in free throw percentage. In the classroom, Myhre sports a 4.0 plus grade point average.

Myhre also holds the Polar League record for three pointers with 384 and she is currently fourth all time in scoring for Barnum with 1551 points. Her 1551 points has her behind Colleen McKay, Katrina Newman, and Justine Axtell.

Northland Sports Online would like to congratulate Katie on this accomplishment being recognized as one of the top players in the state. She was also named as an All State Player last season for the Barnum Bombers.
