It took everything Savanna Trapp could muster up to help her Esko girls basketball team take a 65-62 victory over Pequot Lakes on Monday night. Trapp, a 6’8″ junior center, tossed in 40 points, 13 rebounds and 6 blocked shots to lead the Eskomos to a hard-fought victory.

Esko led it just 32-30 at halftime and then eventually had to rally from a nine point deficit with about three minutes remaining in regulation to secure the win.

Not only was Trapp a force in the game for the Eskomos, but offensively so was Brooke Schramm who finished with 17 points and six assists. Marisa Shady added seven points and Steph Bandelin recorded a point for the Eskomos.

Pequot Lakes had a balanced shooting night with 18 points from Vanessa Lane, 16 from Kayla Miller and Mattie Lueck finished with 14 points. Megan Hogen added nine for Pequot Lakes, both Jessica Kreitz and Katie White scored a pair of points each and it was one point for Rachel Mott.

The win gives the Eskomos a record of 18-1 and the Patriots fall to 10-9.

Trapp also had a big night at the free throw line by going 10-for-10 in leading Esko to the win.
