South Ridge Boys Improve To 6-2 With Win Over Carlton

For the second time this season the South Ridge Panthers and the Carlton Bulldogs have met in boys basketball. The latest meeting was Tuesday night with a similar result as the Panthers improved to 6-2 on the season with a 58-44 win at home behind the 20 points of Dan Wood and the 19 points of Kody Karppinen.

The game was somewhat tight after the first half with the Panthers clinging to a 35-29 edge. However, the Panthers outscored the Bulldogs 23-15 in the second half to come away with a 14 point victory.

Leading Carlton was Erik Adams who finished with 13 points, Kyle Gunderson added 10 it was eight each for Lane Empson and Zach Veno, while Spencer Walton, Dominic Bennett and Mark Lehel added a pair of points each.

Dominic Janke aided the Panthers cause with eight points, it was six for Colton Peterson, and Jerome Otis added five points.

South Ridge only held a two shot edge in the shot from the field, but they also had a wide margin of points at the free throw line as the Panthers scored 13 points from the line, while the Bulldogs had just three points from the free throw line.

South Ridge improved to 6-2 on the season and the Bulldogs fall to 2-6.
