Carl Grussendorf made the move to South Ridge High School this year after having coached the last few years in Carlton. On Thursday afternoon Grussendorf guided his new team to a 60-43 victory over his old team with the help of a solid team effort by the Panthers in the third place game of the Proctor Holiday Tournament.

Carlton led the game 25-23 at halftime, but the Panthers adjusted well entering the second half and came back to outscore the Bulldogs 37-18 in the second stanza and pick up the win.

Colton Peterson led the Panthers with 14 points, Dan Wood had 13 points and Kody Karppinen finished with 10 points, however, the Panthers nearly had two more players in double digits with nine from Jerome Otis and eight points from Aaron Smith. Drew Janke added a solid six points to the effort for the Panthers.

Erik Adams had a game high 22 points to lead Carlton, but the Bulldogs only had one other player, Lane Empson (9 points) who came close to double figures in scoring. Kyle Gunderson added six for Carlton, while Dakota Freer finished with three, Spencer Walton had two points and Zach Veno added a single point.
