The Royals of Royalton gave the Rebels all they could handle on Saturday with a dominant first half performance, but the Rebels were able to regroup in the second half and rebound to a 20-8 come from behind victory in Willow River.

MLWR will travel to Esko next Thursday night to take on the Mesabi East Giants who were able to best the Rangers of Crosby-Ironton in the other semifinal game of the night.

After being shut out int he first half Saturday the Rebels Blake Juhl got the Rebels first score with a 65 yard touchdown run to cut the margin to 8-6 after three quarters of play.

Eli Werners’s 7 yard touchdown reception gave MLWR the lead the never let go of as Mason Olson hit Werner for the touchdown on a third and goal play.

The rebels sealed the win when carter John scored on a 36 yard touchstone pass form Olson and a Juhl two point conversion ended all scoring with the Rebels winning by twelve.
