The siren that blares after a goal by the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys hockey got a substantial workout on Tuesday night when the Jacks throttled Ashland 15-1 at home at Northwoods Credit Union Arena.

Both Adam Hanson and Ryan Holte had hat tricks for the Jacks who scored five goals in each period of the game and outshot the Oredockers 49-10 for the game.

Holte sent notice just 14 seconds into the game when he scored the first goal for the Jacks and just 26 seconds after Holte’s goal, it was Westin Michaud scoring for CEC to give them a 2-0 lead! Holte added his second goal of the night at 3:45 and at 4:35 it was Tanner Robideaux scoring to push the lead to 4-0. CEC went ahead at the 6:34 mark on a goal by Eric Peterson, but before the end of the period the Oredockers got their only goal of the game against CEC’s first-time starter in goal Justin Ketola.

Ryan Lind got things going for the Jacks at the 55 second mark of the second period and just 18 seconds later it was Beau Michaud pounding home a goal as CEC went up 7-1. The Beau Michaud goal was then followed by a pure hat trick from Adam Hanson who scored at 6:22, 12:08 and again at 13:42 and the Jacks were up 10-1 after the second period.

Holte added his third goal of the game at 1:45 of the third and at 5:21 it was Drew Dincau adding a goal as CEC pushed the lead to 12-1. The Jacks closed out the night with goals from Tanner Fritsinger, Nate Niemi and another goal by Niemi.

The scoring surge came a game after CEC had been shut out 7-0 by Duluth East.

Dylan Bamers made 34 saves for Ashland, while Justin Ketola finished with 9 saves on 10 shots in his first start in the net for the Jacks.
