Jacks Bust Loose With 12-Goal Win

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton rifled 43-shots on goal in Monday’s 12-3 road win over Cambridge-Isanti. Along with the plethora of shots were some stellar individual performances including; three-goals from Adam Hanson and six points from Karson Kuhlman.

The Jacks fell behind at 4:34 when Cambridge-Isanti’s Jordan Locken scored a power play goal, but CEC responded with three straight goals to end the period. The first goal for CEC was an unassisted power play goal by Beau Michaud at 7:29; then it was a goal by Ryan Holte with Tanner Robideaux and Drew Dincau assisting. Finally CEC closed the first period scoring at 15:05 when James Newgren tallied with Kuhlman and Westin Michaud assisting.

The Jacks had a remarkable second period where they scored five goals and gave up just one goal. At :41 seconds Hanson scored his first of three goals with Kuhlman and Dincau assisting and CEC was up 4-1. The score went to 5-1 at 5:39 on an unassisted goal by Kuhlman and then 6-1 at 6:03 when Ryan Lind scored with Westin Michaud and Justin Hammann assisting.


The Blue Jackets cut the lead to 6-2 at 10:49 on the power play, but CEC bounced back with back-to-back goals by Hanson at 13:25 and 14:16 to end the period leading 8-2. Hanson’s first goal was assisted by Kuhlman and the second by Kuhlman and Beau Michaud.

As incredible as the second period was, CEC added four more goals in the final period starting with a goal by Westin Michaud 3:01 with Aaron Peterson assisting. CEC went ahead 10-2 at 7:10 when Kellin Lamirande scored on the power play with the assists going to Newgren and Holte. At 9:22 Beau Michaud added another marker with Kuhlman assist and CEC was up 11-2. Cambridge-Isanti picked up their final goal at 10:30 on the power play, but the Jacks responded in kind at 11:05 when Peterson scored the final goal of the game.

While the Jacks outshot the Blue Jackets 43-22 there is still room for improvement after giving up three power play goals on the night.

CEC got a solid performance in the nets from John Scheuer who finished with 19 saves on 22 shots.


The Jacks will be back in action on Thursday when they host the states #1 ranked team Duluth East.
