Johnson’s Seven 3-Pointers Lead Rebels in Win Over Aitkin

Sam Johnson lit up the net with long range hoops as she led her Moose Lake-Willow River girls basketball team to a 68-47 victory over Aitkin.

In leading the Rebels, Johnson nailed seven 3-pointers, and ended up with 21 points in a game the Rebels led 36-21 at halftime. Shaelyn Halverson finished with 12 points and Adri Jusczak added 12 points and were also in double digit scoring for the Rebels were Taylor Miller for nine points, Olivia Bennett had six points, Hayley Johnson added four, it was two points each for Holly Mattson, Dana Olson and Kayla Radel.

The Gobblers were able to get a solid performance on the offensive end by Carene Bayerle, who finished with 19 points, but she was the only Aitkin player to manage double figures in scoring.

For the game the Rebels nailed nine 3-pointers, while the Gobblers finished with only two three-pointers.
