Cromwell Girls Win Third Straight Game

The Cromwell Cardinals picked up their third straight win of the season after losing their opening game of the year to the Barnum Bombers. The Cardinals defeated East Central Thursday night by a score of 64-41.

The Cardinals opened up a early first half lead Thursday as they built an 11 point half time lead of 35-24, The Cardinals continued on with their hot play in the second half as they out-scored the Eagles 29-17 in the second half to make the final margin 23 points on the night.

The Cardinals got a huge game from Makayleigh Cahoon, as she finished with a game high 24 points for the Cardinals. Kayle Johnson added 10 points, Brittany Johnson finished with 8, & Allie Cahoon chipped in with 7 points in the Cardinals home win.

Other Cardinal scorers Thursday night included Samantha Suhonen and Christina Stenson who both finished with 5 points, Ann Collman ended with 3 points and it was Marlene Wester who closed out the Cromwell scoring with 2 points on the night.

The Eagles were led by Charity Carlson, who finished with 13 points, Lizzy Swanson added 9, Taylor Johnson finished with 6, Morgan Johnson and Bailey Beckman both added 4, Kelsey Olson and Briana Paige both had 2 and Kristin Shank finished with 1 point in the loss.

The Cardinals improve to 3-1 on the season and they will be in action again on the road Monday when they face the Rangers of Mountain Iron-Buhl. East Central falls to 1-2 on the season and they will host Onamia on Friday night in Askov.
