Bruins go up 2-0 on Wilderness

The Austin Bruins are sitting in an awfully good position after defeating the Minnesota Wilderness 3-1 Saturday night, taking a 2-0 lead in their best of five series.

The Bruins got a goal in all three periods to get the win and Alex Schilling got the win between the pipes.

 

Dan Petrick  got the scoring going on a power play in the first period at 6:53.

Alex Mella followed just 34 seconds into the second period when he chipped a pass in off the left side of Wilderness goalie Jacob Sibell.

Landon Langenbrunner cut the margin to 2-1 early in the third period, as he scored at the 5:15 mark of the period with assists going to Nick Altmann and Isaac Moberg.

Lane Krenzen capped the scoring with an empty-netter in the last minute of the game.

Austin is now in a position to sweep the Wilderness when they travel north to Cloquet next weekend for games three and four.
