Cromwell raced out to a 21-point halftime lead and then did more of the same in the second half in taking a 61-24 victory over Wrenshall in girls basketball on Monday night.

Makayleigh Cahoon led the Cards with 17 points, but she got plenty of offensive help from the entire roster including both Allie Cahoon and Kaylee Johnson who each finished with 12 points.

Cromwell rolled to a 34-13 first half edge and then proceeded to outscore the Wrens 27-11 in the second stanza. The Cards got to the free throw line quite often in the game and went 13-for-26, but shot just 50% from the line. Meanwhile the Wrens only went 4-for-14 from the free throw line.

Maria Burcar led the offensive efforts with 14 points for the Wrens, while Natalie Peaney added six points and Cassie Wimmer chipped in with four points. They were the only players to score for the Wrens.

Marlene Wester had five points for Cromwell, Christina Stenson and Ann Collman both had four points, Brittany Johnson, Kaylon Risacher and Samantha Suhonen both had two points and Valerie Talley had a point.
