A year ago the Barnum girls basketball team dominated Mountain Iron-Buhl and came away with a 36 point win. Monday night was a bit of a different story with the Rangers coming away with a 10-point win at home over the Bombers. Final score; MIB 61, Barnum 51.

The Bombers struggled to handle Allie Knuti on both sides of the floor. Knuti finished with a solid overall game of 16-points and 13-rebounds, while teammate Dakotah Winans added 11-points and seven assists for the Rangers.

For Barnum it was Katie Myhre leading the offensive charge with 12-points, but she was the only Bomber in double digit scoring.

The Rangers raced out to a 32-21 halftime lead and then held on for the win as Barnum outscored MIB 30-29 in the second half.

MIB nailed seven 3-pointers in the game, while the Bombers hit just four long-range bombs.

Claire Rodgers added nine points for Barnum, Daron Mainville finished with eight, it was Claudia Turner chipping in with six points, Elizabeth Warpula had five points, Petyon Bushey finished with four points, Megan Nelson and Cheyenne Johnson both finished with three points and Caitlan Rodgers had a single point.

The loss is the Bombers first on the season and are now 2-1. They will be back in action next Monday with their home opener against Grand Rapids scheduled for 7:15pm. With the win the Rangers improved to 3-0 on the season.
