Thing slowed at times to a snail’s pace in Thursday’s Carlton versus Chisholm girls basketball game. A total of 64 free throws were taken and several Carlton starters fouled out as the Bluestreaks came away with an 11-point win, 53-42 over the Bulldogs.

Ironically the 11-point win was exactly how many more points the Bluestreaks scored at the foul line than the Bulldogs. Chisholm went 18-for-39, while Carlton was 7-for-25 from the stripe.

Katie Buria led the Bluestreaks with a 23 point effort while Brianna Zunich added 11 points. For the Bulldogs only Lindsay Dahl-Holm with 14 points and Brooke Camps with 12 points were in double digits.

Chisholm led after the first half 26-19 and then outscored the Bulldogs 27-23 in the second half to pull out the win.

Also scoring for Carlton were; Taylor Klassen with nine points, Karlyn Voge two points, Tori Zime had four and Myranda Papesh added a single point.

Carlton is now 1-1 on the season after opening the season with a win over Duluth Marshall on Tuesday. They will be back in action on Monday night when they host McGregor.
