The Hermantown Hawks opened up their season against the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels. The highly anticipated game would turn into a lopsided affair, with the Hawks blanking the Rebels 34-0.

Jake Hausman, who scrambled for a total of 146 yards on 11 carries, kicked the game off in the second quarter with a pair of TD runs, one from 8 yards out and one from a yard out. Luke Lindberg also scored in the 2nd quarter on a 16 yard run, which pushed the Hawks lead to 20-0 at the half.

Coming out of the half, Hausmann continued his dominance, scoring on a 16 yard run in the 3rd quarter and a 4 yard run in the 4th quarter to make it a 34-0 final.

The Rebels were led by Colton Little who had just 31 yards on the ground. The Hawks out gained the Rebels 387 yards to 121 yards in the game.

With the win, the Hawks start the year off 1-0 and will play again on September 8th against North Branch. The Rebels drop to 0-1 and will look to bounce back on September 8th when they travel to play Virginia.
