Hermantown’s Season Comes To An End

The Hermantown Hawks season came to an end on Saturday, falling in the semi-finals to the Princeton Tigers, 22-14.

The Hawks had an early 6-0 advantaged after Jake Hausmann pushed his way into the end zone. Princeton responded just minutes later with a 5 yard touchdown pluge from Damon Rademacher, evening the score to 6-6.

Elliott Peterson would get the lead back for the Hawks on a 14 yard run to make it 14-6 at halftime.

The Tigers would then dominate the Hawks in the second half, scoring 16 unanswered points. It started with a 61 yard run by Tim Bialka and a converted two point attempt to even the score at 14-14. In the 4th quarter, the Tigers would put the final nail in the coffin when Jacob Chase scampered 45 yards to the end zone to give the Tigers a 22-14 victory.

 

 

The Hawks end their season with a 5-4 record. The Tigers, who moved to 4-6 on the year, will square off with the Cloquet Lumberjacks in the Section 7AAAA finals. The game will be played at Lindstrom Field, with kickoff at 7:00pm.
