Floodwood Edges Out Carlton

The Carlton Bulldogs played host to the Floodwood Polar Bears in a key Polar League match-up on Friday evening. The Polar Bears would take advantage of five Carlton errors which resulted in a 4-1 victory.

Getting the win for the Polar Bears was Ricky Baker who went 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits while striking out 10. Isaac Rohde went 2-3 with an RBI for the Polar Bears.

For Carlton, Evan Gray pitched a 7 inning gem, allowing 0 earned runs on 4 hits while striking out 8 batters and walking zero. Leif Herman got the Bulldogs lone RBI while going 2-3 in the loss.

The Polar Bears move to 5-7 on the season, while the Bulldogs drop to 4-14. The Bulldogs and Polar Bears will share the small schools division of the Polar League title this year, both going 3-1 in conference play. Floodwood will be back in action on May 24th when they host Cherry. The Bulldogs will also play on May 24th, traveling to play Littlefork-Big Falls.
