Duluth Padres Win Double-Header

DULUTH — The Duluth Padres defeated the White Bear Township Champions in two seven-inning non-league amateur baseball games Saturday at Bulldog Park.

Jake Lambert (1-2, 5.25 ERA) was the winning pitcher in the first game. He allowed three runs on four hits, five walks, and one hit batsman in five innings. Keith Gunderson pitched the final two innings for the save.

Duluth was led by Bob Baxton’s three hits and Don Miller’s two hits.

Matt Chruscielski (1-1, 2.01 ERA) led Duluth to victory in the second game. He pitched a complete-game five-hitter with four strikeouts, allowed zero earned runs, and walked two. Chruscielski had two of Duluth’s four hits with an RBI double and an RBI single.

Duluth is now 12-13 overall. They host the Oulu Blue Jays on Wed., July 20, at 6:00 p.m. in an Upper 13 League game rescheduled from July 9.
