Bulldogs Notch First Win Of The Season

The Carlton Bulldogs notched their first win of the season on Monday evening against North Woods, winning 11-7 in a game that took 3 hours to complete.

The Bulldogs got an efficient start out of Sam Macor who went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs, with only one of those runs earned. Evan Gray came into the game with bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th and got the Bulldogs out of the jam. Gray came in to close out the game in the 7th inning to record the save.

On offense for the Bulldogs, Gray went 1-2 with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored, while Macor went 1-3 with 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Jackson Mickle went 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s and Nate Nilsen went 1-3 with 2 stolen bases in the win.

The Bulldogs are now 1-4 on the young season after allowing 10 unearned runs against the Barnum Bombers in a 14-6 loss. The Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they host the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels on April 21st at 4:30pm. The game will be played at Chub Lake Park.
