Former Cloquet-Esko-Carlton hockey player Jamie Langenbrunner signed a free agent contract yesterday with the St. Louis Blues. Langenbrunner started last season with the New Jersey Devils before being dealt to the Dallas Stars the same team in which he started his NHL career.

Now 35 years old, Langenbrunner had nine goals and 23 assist in 70 games last year.

A year ago the feisty forward made 2.8 million dollars and his contract with St. Louis is very similar this year. Langenbrunner signed for 2.5 million with a chance to make another $300,000 in bonuses.

The Blues signed Langenbrunner and 36 year old Jason Arnott to identical contracts. Arnott played a year ago for New Jersey and Washington. He was a teammate of Langenbrunner’s in New Jersey.
