Bulldogs Sneak Past Cardinals

The Carlton Bulldogs traveled to play the Cromwell Cardinals on Friday night, leaving victorious 66-63 behind a triple double from Eric Soderstrom.

The Bulldogs held a 34-24 advantage at halftime. To start the second half, the Cardinals cut the Bulldogs lead down to four, but the Bulldogs held off the surge, despite being outscored 39-32 in the second half to hold onto the slim three point victory.

Soderstrom posted his first triple double of the season with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 12 assists in the win for the Bulldogs. Tyler Ojibway led the Bulldogs in scoring with 21 points, while Sam Macor scored 14 points and pulled down 8 rebound. Matt Hey had a nice game with 13 points, while Waylon Lekander pitched in 5, and Efren Moralez-Cruz rounded it out with 2.

For the Cardinals, Tyler Randall had a game high 32 points. Carter Karppinen added 13 points in the loss, while Zion Smith also hit double figures with 10. Marcus Pocernich scored 4, and Sam Kemper and Alek Striowski rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 9-13 on the season and will be back in action on February 6th when they host Two Harbors. The Cardinals drop to 12-8 on the season and will look to bounce back against South Ridge on February 9th.
