Wilderness Split with Bismark

The Minnesota Wilderness shut out the Bismark Bobcats Saturday night to earn a split with the Central Division leading Bobcats by a score of 2-0.

Friday night the Bobcats doubled up on the Wilderness with a 4-2 victory.

 Aaron Herdt scored twice and Hunter Shepard made 34 saves to lead the surging Bobcats to a 4-2 home win over the visiting Wilderness. The Wilderness jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a 1st period goal from Tristan Rostagno.

The Bobcats answered back twice in the 2nd period courtesy of two power play goals from Herdt and Alex Strand.

The Wilderness tied the game early in the 3rd period with a goal from Ryan Bloom, but the Bobcats netted the game-winner less than two minutes later as Herdt scored his second of the game. Willie Brown added an empty-net goal. Luke Kania made 17 saves in the loss.

Chase Munroe stopped all 22 shots that came his way for his third shutout of the season as the Wilderness snapped the Bobcats winning streak with a 2-0 shutout on Saturday, earning a weekend split of the road series in Bismarck.

The game was scoreless through the opening period, but Minnesota broke through early in the 2nd period on a goal from Janis Jaks. Ryan Bloom added a 3rd period power play goal to complete the scoring. Nick DeSimone made 23 saves in the Bobcats loss
