Grand Rapids Uses 3rd Period Explosion To Take Win Over CEC

After no scoring from both sides in the first period, the final period of play would be the deciding factor in the game.

 

In the second period, Alex Adams of Grand Rapids scored the first goal of the night (11:21) on the power play to take the lead. CEC’s Jack Kuhlman would answer back, tying it up with a goal of his own (13:13) on the power play.

 

In the third period of play, Grand Rapids would explode for four goals to take the game by a wide margin.

 

Scoring those goals would be Blake McLaughlin (1:15), Gavin Hain (13:59), Micah Miller (14:18), and John Stampohar (16:17)

 

The final score would end up being CEC 1, and Grand Rapids 5.

 

Gabe Holum had 19 saves for Grand Rapids, while Eric Newman ended with 29 for the Lumberjacks.
