Hawks Fly Past Lumberjacks

The Hermantown Hawks traveled to take on the Cloquet Lumberjacks, coming out victorious 54-42 on Tuesday night.

The Hawks dominated the first half, leading 31-15. The Lumberjacks attempted to come back, outscoring the Hawks 27-23 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Hawks would come out victorious 54-42.

The Hawks used a balanced attack, led by Ellie Gamradt and Jordyn Thomas who scored 12 and 11 respectively. Also contributing to the win was Shania Bolen and Taylor Vold with 9 a piece, Sierra Bolen pitched in 6, Kianna Hren added 3, and Jaelyn Bushey and Tess Johnson rounded it out with 2 a piece.

In the loss for Cloquet, Anna Fossen scored a game high 19 points. Kassidy Steen also scored in double digits with 14. Nicole Blatchford scored 3 in the loss, while Vanna Kelley, Allie Wojtysiak, and Carmen Foss topped it off with 2 each.

The Hawks improve to 5-2 on the season and will be back in action on December 17th when they host Duluth Denfeld. The Lumberjacks fall to 2-3 on the year and will look to bounce back on December 17th when they travel to play Grand Rapids.
