Mirage Skate By Spartans

The Proctor-Hermantown Mirage took the ice against the Superior Spartans on Tuesday evening, skating their way to a impressive 9-0 victory.

It took just 11 seconds for the Mirage to go ahead 1-0, with Sophie McGovern hitting the back of the net. That was followed by goals by Abby Halverson at the 6:32 mark, Brielle Larson just 3 minutes later, and Torii Thomas scoring at the 15 minute spot, to send the Mirage into the second period up 5-0.

In the second period, Mikayla Kero score 7:25 into the period, moving the lead to 6-0. They would go up 7-0 after McGovern scored unassisted near the 12 minute mark.

In the third period, McGovern notched the hat trick, scoring 3 minutes into the period. Larson would top it off scoring near the 12 minute spot, making it a final of 9-0.

Ryan Gray stopped 16 shots in the shutout victory for the Mirage, while Superior’s Autumn Siers stopped 22.

The Mirage improve to 8-4-1 on the season and will be back in action on December 18th when they travel to play Mound Westonka.
