Carlton and Silver Bay Go Down To Last Second Shot

Cade Pierson – NSO

It was a close one Friday night, as the Silver Bay Mariners came away with a win thanks to a last second layup by Michael Fischer to give them the 69-68 victory.

The Bulldogs led 34-31 at halftime, as both teams were evenly matched throughout the entire game.

Late in the game, Carlton’s Tyler Ojibway hit a three-pointer to put his team up by one, but Silver Bays Michael Fischer had other ideas, as he carved through the lane for the game deciding layup.

Fischer led the way for the Mariners as he tallied 32 points, also getting help from Jason Blood who had 20 points, and Matt Barker, who had 13.

Matt Hey was the Bulldogs high point man, scoring 23. Also scoring in double digits for the Dogs was Jackson Mickle with 11, and Eric Soderstrom with 10.

Carlton moves to 2-4 on the season, while Silver Bay improves to 5-0.
