Northland Drivers To Race For Multiple Bonuses During 2011 Season

Drivers who compete at the Northland tracks of the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, WI; Grand Rapids Speedway in Grand Rapids, MN; Hibbing Raceway in Hibbing, MN; Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN and ABC Raceway in Ashland, WI during the 2011 season will have the chance to race for some pretty substantial and exciting winner’s bonuses as the 5 area tracks have come together to offer some extra cash to the drivers who manage to find victory lanes during the 2011 season.

The first bonus – dubbed as the ‘AMSOIL Twin Ports Two Timer’ – will offer a $200 cash bonus to any driver who wins at the AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, WI on Friday night and the backs up the win by winning again at the Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN on Sunday night of the same weekend. This bonus is available for drivers in the Pure Stock class as well as the 4 WISSOTA divisions that the tracks share (Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Midwest Modifieds). If Superior does not race on their regular Friday night, this bonus will go into effect on their midweek show and will use the following Proctor regular Sunday as the second night of the bonus. The bonus will always start in Superior first, so if AMSOIL Speedway races on a Tuesday or Wednesday night during the summer, that event will count and then the following Sunday night event in Proctor will be the second night of the bonus.

The second bonus comes into effect if a driver (in the Pure Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks, Modifieds or Late Models win all 4 features in their respective division on a given weekend. If a driver wins in Grand Rapids on Thursday night, then wins in Superior on Friday night, then backs that up with a win at either Hibbing or ABC (excluding Late Models) on Saturday night and can win a fourth straight night at Proctor on Sunday night – that driver will pick up a cool $1,000 bonus! Certain special event weekends are excluded.

Last but not least, the third bonus, which will go into effect this weekend (May 19th-22nd), is as follows: If any driver wins 3 out of 4 nights in a given weekend in Grand Rapids, Superior, Hibbing and/or Proctor, that driver will win a $200 bonus. Each week that no one wins it, an additional $200 will go into the pot until someone claims it, so if it is not claimed until the end of August, it has the potential to be in the thousands of dollars! If more than one driver does it on the same weekend, whatever is in the pot will be split. If no driver claims it by season’s end, whatever is in the pot will roll over to the start of 2012. At this time, ABC Raceway has declined to participate in this promotional bonus, so ABC will not be included in the third bonus, but is a part of the first two.

All of this should add to the already competitive racing and car count at the area tracks.
