CEC’s Suominen Wins Twice In 7A Swim Meet

The section 7A girls swim meet was held in Hibbing, and the northland has some swimmers who will be heading on to state.

Makayla Suominen of Cloquet-Esko-Carlton placed first in the 100, and 50 freestyles.  She was also a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Proctor-Hermantown’s Megan Mensinger qualified for the state meet in the 200, and 500-yard freestyles.

Hibbing won the team title with a total of 351 points.

Maddie Bernard of Grand Rapids also qualified for state, swimming to second place in the 100 freestyle, in the section 8A meet, which was held in Warroad.
