Wins have been fairly hard to come by this season for the Eskomos and on Thursday, they lost to Virginia 7-4. However, the Eskomos have been playing better baseball as of late and slapped out 11 hits against the Bluedevils.

Esko pitcher, Max Reinertsen, pitched five innings, gave up seven hits and seven runs and walked four while striking out three while Aaron Kovac did not give up a hit and walked two in 1-2/3 innings of work for the Eskomos. Blue Devil pitcher, Cavan Stackpool, tossed a complete game, fanned four, walked one and gave up four runs.

“We have played better baseball our last two outings. Today, we out-hit Virginia — just couldn’t get the timely one. Wirtanen was big at the plate and Reinertsen and Kovac were solid on the hill.” Esko Head Baseball Coach Ben Haugen explained.

Both Andrew Norri and Tom Ostergaard had two hits for the Blue Devils, while Zach Wirtanen went 3-for-4 for the Eskomos and Reinertson was 2-for-4.

The Eskomos are now 3-10 on the season. They will travel to Deer River for a 4:30pm game on Friday.
