After taking a quick two-score lead, the Hermantown Hawks would quickly see their lead dissipate, as Rocori quarterback Connor Schoborg led his team to victory on 20-28 passing for 286 yards and four touchdowns.

After two Christian Comstock scores, one an interception return of 76 yards, and the other being a 19-yard run, the Spartans answered in a big way.  Schoborg would find Alec Anderson twice in the air, for scores of 16, and 15 yards.

Tommy Wieber also plunged in a score from 2-yards out to top off a 19-point quarter.

Trailing by six at halftime, the Hawks looked to get something going.  They did, by way of a James Linberg 1-yard score on the ground to make it 20-19 in the third quarter.

That was the last score Hermantown would see on their impressive season, as the Spartans would find the end zone two more times to seal the win.

Jordan Barth snagged a 38-yard touchdown pass from Schoborg, to re-take the lead.  Schoborg would then seal the victory, finding 6’7 Derek Thompson 23-yards in the air, to make the final score 33-20.

Rocori’s defense stood tall the entire game, containing the Hawks high-powered offense, and star running back Thomas Madison to 43 rushing yards.

The Spartans and their air attack will face off with South St.Paul in next week’s semifinals.
