Proctor Falls Short In Football State Quarterfinal

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton was powered by its strong running and passing game, as they snuck by the Proctor Rails 39-21.  DGFHS capitalized off three turnover from the Rails in the game.

 

 

 

The first quarter was won by the Rebels, as it was Tyler Oberg punching it in from the 1-yard line, and Eric Watt catching a 16-yard pass from quarterback Blake Kragnes.

 

The second quarter was mostly dominated my the Rebels as well, scoring three touchdowns.  Watt would get his second grab for a score on a 77-yard bomb, and Ryan Poehls found the end zone on a 5-yard dash.  Proctors John Aase would get his squad on the board, catching a 17-yard pass from Jake Malec.

 

Gunnar Payne would score before halftime for the Rebels, catching a 12-yard pass from Blake Kragnes.

 

Aase kicked off the third quarter strong for the Rails, hauling in a bomb for 56 yards for six. The Rebels would be able to answer however, seeing Oberg rush it in from 4-yards out.

 

The only score in the fourth quarter would come courtesy of Aase, as he reeled in his third touchdown grab on the night, for 34-yards. That would be Malec’s third passing touchdown on the night.

 

The Rebels will advance and take on Jackson County Central in the semifinal next week.
