Thunder Softball Players Receive Postseason Honors

A Pair of Thunder softball player received individual post-season honors on Wednesday. Former Duluth Central standout, Lisa Muehlberger, was named to the MCAC All-State 1st Team in softball while her teammate, Hermantown graduate Anna Engelmeier was named MCAC All-State Honorable Mention.

On Tuesday Muehlberger was named 1st Team All-North Division of the MCAC. She was a sophomore third baseman and team captain for the Thunder this past season.

This past season Muehlberger led the Thunder with a .570 batting average, 52 hits, 52 RBIs and a number of other statistical categories. As a third baseman Muehlberger made just 3 errors on the season in 87 chances and finished with .970 fielding percentage.

Engelmeier, a second year outfielder, hit .439 and stole 13 bases.

She also scored 40 runs during her outstanding season for the Thunder.
