Silver Bay Gets By Bulldogs In First Playoff Action

Silver Bay hosted the Bulldogs of Carlton for the second straight week, this time in the playoffs.  Silver Bay would be led by a three-headed monster, having Michael Fischer, Nathan Bauck, and Justin Ketola rush for a combined 334 yards in the win.

The Bulldogs would get the first score of the game as Jaryd Soukkala had a 5-yard rushing touchdown.  The Mariners would answer in a big way, as Fischer had a 13-yard scamper for six.  Tanner and Justin Ketola then scored back-to-back touchdown runs (35,45).  Marshall Bennett then scored on a quick rush of 10-yards for the Dogs’ second score of the night.

Justin Ketola would then score again, running it 54 yards for six.  Silver Bay would get another score before halftime, seeing Nathan Bauck running it 26 yards to bring the score to 36-14 at the half.

Bauck would pick up where he left off, getting a 70-yard touchdown scamper.  Silver Bay would keep the rushing attack rolling, as Fischer found the end zone 25 yards out.  Carlton would then rally to get two scores of their own, as Jackson Mickle had a 1-yard rushing score, and a 39-yard touchdown pass to Eric Soderstom.  Silver Bays Fischer would put an exclamation point on the night, breaking loose for a 70-yard rush for six.  The final score would be 57-28.

The Mariners will advance, and take on The South Ridge Panthers on Saturday.
