South Ridge Runs To Playoff Win

The South Ridge Panthers moved to 7-2 on the season, topping the Northland Eagles 46-14 behind a strong running performance as a team.

Joe Janke got the Panthers out to the early lead, getting into the end zone from 7 yards away. Zach Johnson converted the two point attempt making it 8-0. It moved to 16-0 after Johnson scored on a 12 yard scamper, this time with Reid Clark converting the 2 points. Clark would then find the end zone from a yard out and Keyton Westgard would convert the two points to make it 24-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Clark found the end zone again in the 2nd quarter, this time on a 33 yard run. He also converted the 2 point conversion to send the Panthers into the half with a 32-0 lead.

In the 3rd quarter, Nick Carlson got into the end zone from a yard away. Garrett Hanson converted the two points, making it a 40-0 lead for South Ridge. It moved to 46-0 after Colton Voigt plunged into the end zone from a yard away.

Northland finally found the end zone in the 4th quarter when Zain Myers scampered 52 yards to the end zone. Zach Carney converted the 2 points, making it 46-8. Myers would then catch a 17 yard pass from Carney, making it a final of 46-14.

The Panthers advance to the semifinals where they will face the Silver Bay Mariners on Saturday afternoon.
